Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) Gaskets Product Overview
 Product Overview

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) Gaskets, often referred to as Teflon™ Gaskets, are sealing components manufactured from PTFE, a superior performance engineering plastic. Renowned for their unparalleled chemical inertness, extreme temperature tolerance, exceptional non-stick properties, and low friction, they are the premier sealing solution for demanding applications involving strong corrosion, high/low temperatures, and high purity.

 Core Characteristics & Advantages

· Unrivaled Chemical Resistance: Withstands attack by virtually all strong acids, alkalis, oxidizing agents, and organic solvents, including aqua regia.
· Extreme Temperature Range: Maintains excellent mechanical properties and sealing effectiveness from cryogenic temperatures of -200°C to high temperatures of +260°C.
· Superior Non-Stick & Lubricity: Possesses the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material, preventing adhesion and ensuring clean sealing and easy disassembly.
· Excellent Insulation & Weatherability: Outstanding electrical insulation properties, and is unaffected by ozone and UV exposure, ensuring a long, maintenance-free service life.

Primary Applications

· Chemical Processing Industry: Sealing for reactors, columns, heat exchangers, pipelines, valves, and pumps.

· Pharmaceutical & Food Industry: FDA-compliant grades used in fermenters, transfer lines, and filling equipment for sanitary applications.

· Electronics & Electrical: Insulation and sealing in semiconductor manufacturing, high-purity chemical delivery systems, and high-frequency communication equipment.

· Mechanical & Automotive: Various seals in hydraulic systems, lubrication systems, engines, and transmissions.

 Selection & Installation Notes

· Virgin PTFE Gaskets are suitable for the vast majority of highly corrosive services and high-purity applications.

· Glass or Carbon-Filled PTFE is recommended for applications requiring higher creep resistance and pressure capability.

· Graphite-Filled PTFE is the preferred choice for thermal cycling applications or where better seal recovery is needed.

· For installation, ensure flange faces are clean and flat. Bolts should be tightened evenly and in a crisscross pattern to avoid localized stress and gasket damage.

Summary: Our comprehensive range of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) Gaskets, backed by detailed performance data and flexible specifications, provides precise and reliable sealing solutions, making them a critical component for enhancing equipment safety and operational integrity.
