PTFE Graphite Packing is a high-performance sealing material primarily composed of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and graphite, manufactured through specialized braiding processes. Some products may include reinforcing components such as fiberglass, copper wire, or stainless steel wire based on specific application requirements to further enhance structural stability.
In terms of compositional properties, PTFE provides excellent chemical stability and corrosion resistance, enabling it to withstand erosion from most chemical media including acids, alkalis, salts, and organic solvents. The graphite component imparts a low friction coefficient, effectively reducing wear and energy consumption during equipment operation, while significantly enhancing high-temperature resistance – it can withstand temperatures up to 850°C for prolonged use in oxygenated environments, with even better performance in oxygen-free environments. Furthermore, packing structures produced by cross-interlocking, spiral braiding, and other processes combine high strength with flexibility. This allows them to resist stretching and tearing while conforming tightly to the shapes of sealing parts like shafts and stuffing boxes, accommodating different sizes and operating conditions.
Leveraging these comprehensive advantages, PTFE Graphite Packing is widely used in pumps, valves, and reactors within the petrochemical industry; processing and filling equipment in the food and beverage industry; and equipment such as pulp pumps and pipelines in the paper and printing industries. Key Instructions:
1. Installation Points:
· Shaft surface roughness must be controlled within Ra 0.8-1.6 μm.
· Cuts of each packing ring should be staggered by more than 120°.
2. Selection Recommendations:
