Application scenarios of PTFE and stainless steel bonding

 

First: chemical equipment

In chemical pipelines, reaction vessels, and other equipment, PTFE coating can protect stainless steel substrates from corrosion by strong acids, alkalis, and other chemicals, making it suitable for chemical production environments

 

Second:food processing

Food processing equipment (such as conveyor belts, mixers, etc.) adopts PTFE coating, which is corrosion-resistant and not easy to stick to food residues, easy to clean and disinfect, and meets food hygiene standards

 

Third: mechanical parts

In situations where lubrication and wear resistance are required, such as mechanical seals and bearing components, PTFE coatings are used. Their low friction coefficient can reduce wear and improve efficiency

Regarding the main performance indicators that users are most concerned about:

 

1. Friction coefficient: When PTFE plate is in contact with stainless steel plate and silicone grease is added, the friction coefficient is usually ≤ 0.03. When silicone grease is not added, the friction coefficient should be doubled.

2. Load bearing capacity of PTFE: The compressive strength of PTFE can reach over 30MPa, and the characteristic compressive strength f_k of PTFE evaluated by the European standard EN1337-2 is 90MPa. The bearing range of PTFE plate rubber bearings for general bridges is 100-10000kN, and the specific bearing capacity is also related to the design and usage conditions of the bearings.

3. Connection strength between PTFE and substrate stainless steel plate: Epoxy adhesive is used for bonding, and after optimizing the composition and preparation process, the bonding strength can reach 14.5MPa.
