Introduction to PVC Foam Board
PVC foam board is a lightweight, porous sheet material primarily made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, with added foaming agents, stabilizers, and other additives, manufactured through high-temperature extrusion molding. Based on differences in foam structure and density, products are categorized into free-foam boards, surface-hardened foam boards (commonly known as Sintra/FOAM-X boards or Celuka boards), and co-extruded laminated boards. Some products incorporate glass fibers or wood flour reinforcement to meet specific mechanical performance requirements.

In terms of material properties, the PVC base provides excellent waterproofing, moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, and flame retardancy. The unique closed-cell foam structure endows the board with lightweight, high strength, thermal insulation, and sound insulation properties. Through formulation adjustments and process control, precise regulation of board density, hardness, surface smoothness, and workability can be achieved, combining the easy machinability of wood with the durability of plastic.

Thanks to its outstanding comprehensive performance and high cost-effectiveness, PVC foam board has become a core material in fields such as architectural decoration, advertising display, transportation, and furniture manufacturing. Key Guidelines

1.  Machining & Installation Points:

       Cutting: Recommend using carbide-tipped saw blades at high speed to avoid tearing.

       Bonding: Use PVC-specific adhesive or polyurethane structural adhesive to ensure bond strength.

       Thermoforming: Heat evenly to 120-140℃ until pliable, then form; avoid localized overheating and scorching.

2.  Selection & Design Advice:

       Outdoor Use: Must select products with UV-resistant formulations, or apply weather-resistant surface treatments (laminating/coating).

       Load-Bearing Requirements: Select board with sufficient density and thickness based on mechanical calculations, or design reinforcing rib structures.
