Introduction to PVC Flexible Sheet

PVC flexible sheet is a type of flexible sheeting primarily made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin, with the addition of plasticizers, stabilizers, and other additives. It is manufactured through processes like calendering, extrusion, or coating. Depending on the plasticizer content and formulation, the product's hardness can be adjusted across a wide range (Shore A 50-95). It can also be laminated with fabric, non-woven materials, or other substrates to enhance mechanical strength, forming various functional composite materials.

In terms of material characteristics, PVC flexible sheet offers good flexibility, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation properties. By adjusting the plasticizer system, a variety of textures and physical properties, from ultra-soft to semi-rigid, can be achieved. Its surface can be embossed, printed, or laminated, and it features excellent weldability and edge-sealing properties, facilitating easy fabrication into various end products.

Thanks to its outstanding moldability, waterproof and moisture-proof properties, and ease of processing, PVC flexible sheet is widely used in industrial linings, waterproof membranes, packaging containers, medical supplies, stationery, toys, automotive interiors, and more. It serves as an ideal substitute for rubber, leather, and certain textiles.

Key Notes

1.  Processing & Welding Guidelines:

       Hot Air Welding: Temperature should be controlled between 250-350°C with even speed to ensure complete fusion of the welding rod and base material.

       High-Frequency (RF) Welding: Suitable for PVC containing polar plasticizers, resulting in strong and aesthetically pleasing seams.

       Bonding: Use PVC-specific adhesives (e.g., cyclohexanone solution or polyurethane glue). Surfaces must be cleaned and activated.

2.  Selection & Usage Recommendations:

       Outdoor or High-Temperature Environments:** Choose weather-resistant and heat-resistant formulations (with low-migration plasticizers) to prevent hardening, embrittlement, or plasticizer exudation.

       Contact with Food or Human Body:** Always select non-toxic formulations compliant with relevant regulations (e.g., medical grade, food grade).

       Dimensional Stability:** For products with strict dimensional requirements, fabric-backed composite sheets or low-shrinkage formulations are recommended.
